Christmas Events!…

Rough Magic Theatre deliver many shows for Christmas parties, Christmas markets, fairs, festivals and celebrations.

“Jabberwocky!” or “Edward Lear’s Nonsense” – Walkabout Shadow Puppet Shows

Two different but equally fabulous musical adaptations of classic English nonsense poems in a suitcase shadow theatre.  Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky is a tale of fabulous monsters and feats of daring do.  “The New Vestments” by Edward Lear is perfect Yuletide fare combining an outfit made of food and “beasticles, birdlings and boys” with hilarious results.  Both are very suitable for Victorian/Dickensian themed events (e.g. Christmas markets) including themed Christmas costume.

Suitable for outdoor or indoor events, daylight or evening.  Can also be combined with other activities such as shadow puppet making for a fun and unusual party.

Great for schools or libraries because of the literary source, could easily be combined with nonsense poem  or shadow puppetry workshop.

“Alice in Wonderland” – Walkabout Show

Unique tea party costume incorporating “Mad Hatter” costumed character, a tea table with percussive tea set and puppet “March Hare”.

Available either as an interactive walkabout using one performer or a two performer version with “Alice” as well. The two performer version contains musical set piece “Twinkle-Twinkle Little Bat” with original music.

Suitable for all ages, this show makes a great Christmas treat for schools, family fun days, theatres, community groups, Christmas markets/shopping centres etc.
